C.R.O.P. Center for Research on Poverty
Prevention and reduction of poverty seldom reach the forefront of public
policy, contributing to an inverse relationship between social science
consensus and the momentum of budgetary spending.  Establishment of
more favorable conditions for public action can be achieved in part by
increasing research activity on poverty and by bringing the knowledge
acquired as a of this research to the public and government policy makers
through publications and other methods.  It is the goal of the Center for
Research on Poverty (C.R.O.P.) to foster both research on poverty and
the publication of this research.
