Master’s (M.A.)Program Description


The M.A. program prepares students for either applied service-oriented positions or further study, usually in a doctoral program. Students entering the program will be expected to complete 39 hours of coursework, six hours of which will be the master’s thesis. The program involves full-time study; it is expected that the student will complete the program in approximately two years.

The curriculum in Industrial/Organizational Psychology provides training in both personnel psychology and organizational psychology. Most graduates work in human resources areas of employing organizations, although some M.A. graduates have pursued further study.
