Many CMU MPA students take advantage of the available programs that can help finance a higher education. Students who need money for their education can apply for financial assistance to help them afford a CMU education.

Student Employment Services
Work Study - Work-study positions are available to students who have applied for    and have been granted financial aid packages that include federal or Michigan work-study awards.  Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive work-study awards.

General Student Assistance (GSA) - All students, including international students and students who do not qualify for financial aid, are eligible for GSA employment.  These positions are funded through department budgets.  Student earnings through GSA employment are not limited.

Each year the political science department awards a limited number of graduate assistantships to MA and MPA students.  Graduate assistants receive tuition credit and a stipend as compensation.  They work 20 hours per week for the department by assisting in faculty research and teaching activities.  The application for a Graduate Assistantship will be available in the Spring Semester 2009.
