Interested in an internship but don't know where to start?  Well, you've come to the right place.  If you are thinking about an internship during the 2008-2009 academic year, now is the time to start looking. We have a variety of paid and unpaid internships available, within Michigan and nationwide.  Positions will be available with elected officials, government agencies, non-profit service agencies, political parties, interest groups, lobbying firms and think tanks, trial court systems, and international organizations.  Positions are posted in two ways:

 Both public and private sector job recruiters agree that students who have served an internship are at a distinct advantage over the competition.  Why, you ask?

  • An internship demonstrates commitment and personal initiative.

  • Interns bring valuable basic hands-on experience to their chosen profession.

  • Interns are viewed as people who have tested a career path and enjoyed the experience.  Accordingly, they are less likely to quit or be fired after a few months on the job.

  • Many organizations recruit for permanent positions from their intern pool.  Or they recommend promising interns for career positions with other organizations.
