Dissertation topic:  "ISLAM AND DEMOCRACY: AN EMPIRICAL EXAMINATION OF MUSLIMS' POLITICAL CULTURE"-- Recipient of the University's Dissertation of the Year Award in 2004.

May 2001, passed the comprehensive exams on Comparative Politics and Political Theory with the grade of “high pass.”
