Welcome to the Chippewa Battalion!
We’re the home of the premier leadership
training course in the world, and demonstrate an incomparable
investment in yourself and your future. The Chippewa Battalion is a
diverse and adaptive organization focused on developing America’s
future leaders. Whether you join our ROTC program to earn a
commission as an Army Officer or enroll in our Military Science and
Leadership courses in pursuit of our unique academic minor, you’re
going to leave with the values and skills necessary to be called
leader wherever you find your future. The best part - Our textbooks
are free.
Those students interested in receiving a commission as a United States Army officer are eligible to earn 2, 3 or 4 year full tuition scholarships. They receive up to $600 in book money each semester, in addition to a $300 - $500 monthly stipend for living expenses. Our dedicated instructors embody the 7 Army values and commit themselves whole heartedly to shaping you into the leader needed by the military and aggressively sought after in civilian careers. They work hard to ensure they provide a non-hostile growing environment while giving you all the resources you need to discover and expand your leadership potential. You’ll be joining other motivated students like yourself in a fraternity type organization and developing bonds that will last a lifetime. We are headquartered at Central Michigan University and we maintain a partnership presence and Ferris State University. Through unique cross college agreements, students who attend Alma College, Saginaw Valley State University, Mid-Michigan Community College, Delta Community College, and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College can also enroll in ROTC at the Chippewa Battalion.
