David I. Macleod earned
his Ph.D. in history at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison in 1973. He joined the faculty at CMU
in 1970 and has taught as a visiting assistant professor
at the University of Toronto.
Research Interests
Professor Macleod's research interests have included the
history of childhood and youth in the United States, the
history of philanthropy, and the history of voluntary
organizations. He is currently studying the impact of
consumer prices on politics and policy in the United
States in the early twentieth century. He also edits the
Michigan Historical Review.
