III.  Mood Disorders

        A.  Major Depression (Unipolar Depression)

        B.  Bipolar Disorder (Manic-Depression)

 

IV.  Schizophrenia

        A.  Positive Symptoms

        B.  Negative Symptoms

                1.  Avolition (lack of motivation)

                2.  Alogia (poverty of speech or content of speech)

                4.  Emotional numbing (flat/blunted affect & emotional withdrawal)

        C.  Duration

                1.  Total = at least six months

                2.  Active Phase of at least one month

                3.  Prodromal and residual phases can make up the rest
