Why don't you sit down and stay a while?

Time

silent and still.

The taste of a heartbeat

in a mouth meshes

intertwines

with the tick of the clock.

Smells of fear

everywhere.

The taste still lingers

on the tip of a tongue.

You can see best

with your eyes closed -

nothing is invisible.

Feel

drugs

pumping through a bloodstream.

See

outer shell

of an eye –

every speck of dust

and dirt

covers

the transparent lenses.

Feel

eyes swell

pupils dilate.

Light

shines in -

is impossible to stop.

Breathing in

too much fresh air

could kill you,

will kill you.

Just then -

heavier,

faster

Your heart beats.

Faster and faster

each pump

Sends you

higher and higher -

floating,

flying

Falling

Your chest tightens –

It is no longer

possible to stand.

Sit down.
