Brain Research Endowment

To support research in the Field Neurosciences Laboratory for Restorative Neurology. The focus of research in this lab is to assess potential treatments that promote recovery of function following brain damage, especially projects that test potential therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Huntington's, Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.

Appropriate expenditures: critical research supplies and/or equipment, student research assistantships or scholarships, technical support (including bringing in outside expertise for seminars and/or for teaching new techniques) or other special needs that support the mission of the lab.

Anne Miller-Quimper Memorial Award

Scholarship awarded annually to support thesis or dissertation research for graduate students (specialist or doctoral) in the school psychology program.

  • Only school specialist or doctoral students can apply.

Joanna M. Russ Memorial Undergraduate Research and Presentation Grant

Grant awarded to support research and/or presentation travel expenses. It will provide support to offset costs associated with a student's research or creative project or presentation of the results of such project.

Projects must fall within one of the following areas, with priority given to research related to CHARGE syndrome:

  • The cause or nature of behavioral difficulties in children with CHARGE syndrome;

  • Educational, family, medical, social or other difficulties experienced by children with CHARGE syndrome or other genetic syndromes;

  • Studies related to autism and autism spectrum disorder;

  • Studies related to other low incidence disabilities such as deafblindness.

Applicants should present evidence of a strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA overall) and faculty sponsorship.

The number, amount and recipient(s) of the grant will be determined by the Department of Psychology, but applicant need not be a psychology major or minor.

James and Catherine Steinmetz Graduate Scholarship

Scholarship awarded to graduate students majoring in experimental psychology.

  • Graduate student majoring in experimental psychology

Wilbert Wright Endowed Memorial Award

Scholarship awarded to a first-generation college student with a major in psychology.

  • First-generation college student with full-time enrollment status

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Intended for purchase of textbooks or other non-tuition expenses
