Procedure

1. After perfusion remove head by cutting with scalpel

2. Make midline cut towards neck and peel back scalp

3. Use bone cutters to remove muscle tissue and skull exposing the brain. Be watchful not to damage brain tissue

4. Remove dura matter completely with care, using tweezers and scissors.

5. Use bone cutters to gently remove ear ossicles out of the skull

6. Carefully sever olfactory bulbs, dorsal root ganglia, optic tract and any other remaining extracerebral fiber connections with spatula - remove brain cautiously

ü Check protocol for fixing of the brain.

Clean instruments
