We started with meeting the e-board and having a quick ice breaker
where we buddied up and asked each other questions. We also showed our
youtube video featuring our recent volunteering at the Buddy Walk. Its
at the end of the minutes if you're interested!

If anyone is interested in joining a committee, we have a few
available! What that would entail would be helping out a member of
e-board so that tasks can get done faster and so more ideas can be
generated within the group. If interested, reply back and we can fit
you in! I believe the committees are public relations,
fundraising/volunteering, undergraduate advocate and advertising.

We were holding a pop can drive today at 3:30pm(And alas, I didn't get
this out in time, forgive me) but if any of you would like to collect
cans where you are and donate the proceeds to APSSC that would be
fantastic. We are also trying to get a fundraiser dinner going
sometime this semester so get excited and come to help out!

We're looking to hold a research workshop November 19th at 6pm. It
would be research opportunities and professors talking about their
research. We want to know what you guys would be interested in! APSSC
wants to highlight what you all want so let us know if you have any
ideas for what you'd like to see! The location of the workshop is yet
to be determined.

APSSC tee shirts are available: Baseball tees that say Central
Michigan Psychology on the front and then APSSC on the back. Those are
$17. For those of you that have seen our APSSC e-board shirts, we can
put in an order for those as well, but without the e-board. Those
would be $8 if you're interested.

The dues for our chapter are $10 and can be turned in at the Sloan
office. We are going to hold an essay contest to have your dues
waived. The deadline is November 1st and the winners will be selected
by November 19th and announced at the research workshop. The essay has
two requirements 1. Description of yourself and research
involvement/interests and 2. How being a member of the APSSC will
benefit you. The essay shouldn't be longer than a page. The essay can
also be turned into Sloan, just ask them to put it into our mailbox
or! e-mail it to Jennifer Cousineau @ cousi1jr@cmich.edu

Things you might be iterested in:
-Grad fair Tuesday October 20th in the UC from 3-6pm and there will be
food available
-Safe Zone Training, which teaches you to deal with situations and
encourages you to be an open ally for the GLBTQ community. The dates
are 10/13 from 2-4pm and 11/19 1-3pm. Both are in Rowe 229

We will start holding office hours in Sloan 003 during the weekdays:
Monday 3:30-5:30
Tuesday 9:30-10:55 and 12:30-2
Wednesday 4:45-6:15
Thursday 9:30-10:55 and 3:30-5:30
Friday To be determined

These hours are for you to ask any questions you want! APSSC
questions, basic psych questions and homework/GRE help. When we get
the e-board assigned we'll let you know which is what day.

Ended at 6:48pm

Hope to see everyone continue to be a part of APSSC and help out. It
was awesome Thursday!
