We are excited to announce the development of two
new resources for faculty and students that are interested in
qualitative research methodology. Both the Qualitative Research
Clearinghouse website and the Qualitative Research Listserv have
been designed to be useful tools for individuals well versed in
qualitative methods as well as for those who would like to learn
more or even be introduced to this rich form of inquiry.
1. The Qualitative research Clearinghouse
website:
http://www.ehs.cmich.edu/qualitative/
This clearinghouse website presents a review of the
disparate types of qualitative approaches, methods, and analysis
strategies; links to funding and other web resources; a list of
how-to references; a collection of published qualitative
works; and will soon have a page dedicated to the use of the new
NVivo 7 program (evolving from N6 and the NUD*IST family of
programs).
2. The
Qualitative Research LISTSERV
The mission of this Listserv is to
build a community of CMU faculty, staff, and students interested
in teaching and conducting qualitative methods of inquiry and
research. We see this forum as a place to bridge those with
expertise to those beginning to learn about qualitative methods
in a supportive fashion. We also see this forum as a means to
stay up-to-date with the most cutting edge qualitative methods
and to develop new methods of inquiry.
