STANDARDS-BASED SCENARIO

TASK:  Using the National Standards for Foreign Languages as a guide, write a scenario for elementary, middle or high school

Be sure to include the following information in your final written plan:

bulletIdentify the age group this unit will be developed for (high school/middle school) as well as language level (1, ii, iii)
bulletClearly identify the main purpose of the unit, its theme, objectives for your students, and the National Standards that are addressed.
bulletState the specific NEW content that will be covered including language functions and structures.
bulletTry to find an authentic reading or listening segment for the students and include culture.
bulletDevelop a series of pre-reading, listening/post-reading, listening activities to prepare the students to work with the realia.
bulletThere must be evidence of effective contextualized language instruction
bulletall overheads, reading or listening selections, and sample of activities should be included.
bulletInclude a copy of the examination/evaluation tools you will use to assess student performance   (This will be turned in about 2 weeks AFTER the Scenario and AFTER we have discussed authentic testing.)
bulletInclude times estimates for each day (should be at least two days)
bulletBe detailed enough to allow someone to replicate your teaching.
