Bachelor of Social Work Program Receives Candidacy Status
Faculty
The department's faculty are highly trained and accomplished in the four
distinct
disciplines of sociology, criminology, anthropology, and social work.
Graduate
students are the beneficiaries of a lively exchange of perspectives,
methodologies,
and skills in this multidisciplinary environment.
Of the SASW faculty who contribute directly to the graduate programs, several
are the department's finest teachers and have won awards for teaching
excellence.
The core faculty are very active professionally as consultants to a wide range
of
community-based and public agencies, as officers of professional associations,
as journal editors, and as prolific researchers and publishers. Selected
members
of this faculty have considerable experience writing academic research grants
and
grants for commitment to graduate education bode extremely well for students
seeking professional development or advanced study in sociology or criminal
justice.
