CMU's Political Science Department will host the 36th Annual Meeting of Michigan Conference of Political Scientists (MCPS). Dr. Vidu Soni, Associate Professor in the Department and 2004 President-Elect of MCPS will organize and host this year's conference, which will be held at the Bovee Center on October 15-16, 2004.

The themes for this year's Annual Meeting are "globalization and its impact on governance" and "promoting student research in political Science." Panel presentations will encompass numerous political science sub-fields. In addition, the Annual Meeting will feature many speakers, including Senator Carl Levine as the Luncheon Speaker on Saturday, October 16th.

MCPS represents all colleges and universities in Michigan and has over 250 members. Each year, approximately 150 political scientists attend the Annual Meeting. This year, several of the faculty and students in CMU's Political Science Department will participate in the conference.
