Vita

Rick S. Kurtz joined the political science department in 1999, after several years of government service. Serving for three years as the department internship director, he then spent four years as the Master of Public Administration Program Director. He served as Political Science Department Chair from 2007-2009.  Kurtz teaches courses on public administration, organizational management, state and local government and environmental politics and policy. Current research focuses on marine pollution and spill mitigation. Kurtz is also serving as principal investigator for the Gateway Community Economic Development Project.
