Daniel Allen awarded Ph.D.

CMU alumni Daniel Allen, MA Political Science 2004, was recently awarded a Ph.D. from Washington State University.  Daniel’s dissertation was entitled "Compliance and State-Building:  U.S.-Imposed Institutions in the Philippine Colonial State.”

Academic positions:

  • Visiting Assistant Professor in Political Science at Southwest Minnesota State University (2007-2009)

  • Starting a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Political Science in August 2009 at Anderson University in Anderson, IN.

 

Teaching:

  • Introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses in international and comparative politics.

  • Favorite courses include American foreign policy and global political economy.

 

Research interests: 

American foreign policy, nation and state-building theory.
