The purpose of
this fraternity shall be to form a strong bond uniting students and teachers
of the law with members of the Bench and Bar in a fraternal fellowship
designed to advance ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to inspire
the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional
competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their
moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may
enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.
This organizaton
is composed of law students, pre-law students, legal educators, attourneys,
judges, and government officials. We are the world's largest Law Fraternity.
The objective of Central Michigan University's Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law
chapter is to help undergraduate students get their foot in the door so
to speak. We are an organization dedicated to helping students make informed
choices about law schools, fields of study, and the law profession.
Central Michigan
University's Pre-Law chapter does not have the highest number of members
but we do have high quality members. We are a very close organization.
Each one of us is dedicated to the fraternity. Our chapter was founded
on February 2, 1987.
Phi Alpha Delta
hosts a Pre-Law Conference in the fall in various cities around the United
States. At the 1997 conference, our chapter Secretary won Secretary of
the Year. Several of our members placed in the mock trial competition.
Our fraternity as a whole placed third for Chapter of the Year. At the
1998 Conference, Central Michigan University's chapter had a great time
and were represented with the most members in attendance at the conference.
