Who can the HOPE Program Serve? Families whose children 3-6 years of age have severe behavior problems (e.g., aggression, defiance, attention problems, impulsivity, refusal to follow directions, tantrums, etc).

Who can refer children to the HOPE Program? The CMU PCIT Clinic accepts referrals for the HOPE Program from families, physicians, educators, daycare workers, FIA, and other healthcare professionals.

Why should I consider the HOPE Program for my family? Children with disruptive behaviors are at risk for poor school adjustment, antisocial activities, and peer problems. Early intervention can decrease parent stress, increase family functioning, and prevent more negative outcomes.

What services does the HOPE Program provide? The HOPE Program provides a free, comprehensive assessment of children's behavior problems and offers Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based, positive and intensive treatment designed to help families to improve the quality of the parent-child relationship and to teach parents new skills to manage their children's behavior problems.
