CMU/UQAC GRANT FOR FRENCH STUDIES

Central Michigan University and the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi offer a $600 grant ($300 American, $300 Canadian) for study during the five-week spring or summer immersion programs. CMU students who are declared French majors or minors are eligible to apply. Applicants must have completed French 201 or the equivalent and at least 6 credit hours in French at CMU by the time the grant is to be used. All applicants must register with the Office of International Education.

 

 

 

THE EDANA DUGUAY SCHOLARSHIP FOR FRENCH STUDY ABROAD

Supported through private gifts, this scholarship was established in 1986 by the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures in honor of Dr. Edana Duguay, a former Professor of French at Central Michigan University. The scholarship provides financial aid to CMU French majors or minors for study in France or Quebec. In order to be eligible, applicants must:

a) be declared French majors or minors with at least sophomore standing at CMU,
b) have at least two years of college-level French,
c) have had at least 6 hours of French at CMU, and
d) have a 3.00 GPA in French and a 2.75 GPA overall.

All applicants must register with the Office of International Education.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTE

In addition to the scholarships described above, there is financial assistance available from the Office of International Education for study in Quebec or in France. If you are interested in applying for such financial assistance, please complete this form and return it to the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Pearce 305, by the deadline indicated on the form. The only restrictions on this scholarship money are the following:

a. you must have an overall GPA of 2.60, and
b. you must register with the Office of International Education.

 

 

To be eligible for the above scholarships, a student must be currently enrolled at CMU.
