Financial Support for Graduate Students and Eastern European Scholars A message from Mark Elliott Dear colleagues, I am very pleased to announce that the International Society for Psychophysics (ISP) will make provision for the following financial support to attend this years Fechner day in Michigan: 2 x US$400.00 to support students from North or South America 2 x US$800.00 to support students from elsewhere 1 x US$800.00 to support a scholar from Eastern Europe, the Balkans or from a CIS state. Applications should include (i) a statement from the applicant outlining their case for support, a curriculum vita and an abstract of their proposed presentation (all applicants are expected to register their proposed presentation at the Fechner day web site -> http://www.chsbs.cmich.edu/FD2005/ <- although it is understood that registration and other fees may be met by the applicant at a later date and subsequent to the award of the above mentioned stipends). Applications should be made directly to FD2005@cmich.edu with a firm closing date of July 1st. I will then put all applications to a ballot of longstanding and impartial ISP members who will rank applicants according to the scientific merits of their proposed presentation, service (if any) to the ISP and need for support. I will then endeavor to inform successful applicants by the beginning of August. Regards,
