Graduate Teaching Assistantships
For M.A. candidates in English Language & Literature, Composition & Communication, TESOL and the Creative Writing Option.
Stipend: At least $9500 for the first year. Position renewable for the second year. Twenty credit hours of tuition waiver per year and most fees.
Assignment: Teaching two classes of composition or 20 hours of work in the Writing Center or the TESOL program. Six hours of graduate course work.

Applicants must have secured regular admission to both the Graduate College and to an M.A. program in English to be considered for a graduate assistantship in English. Applications for admission to the Graduate College and for the Assistantship may be submitted contemporaneously.

Graduate Research Fellowships
Graduate Research Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to students with outstanding academic records. Students who will be enrolled full-time in a master's or specialist's degree program at Central Michigan University may apply for the award which provides a stipend, a tuition scholarship for up to 30 credit hours, and remission of class-related technology, activity center, organization and enrollment fees. Each recipient of a fellowship may act as a research fellow under the tutelage of a designated faculty member.
